Anche quest'anno Poggiotondo apre gratuitamente le porte dell'azienda a chi vorrà scoprire i segreti della vendemmia. Soggiorni a prezzi scontati negli alberghi per chi arriverà in Casentino per la vendemmi.

"VIVI LA VENDEMMIA 2". Questo è l'invito che l'avvocato Lorenzo Massart, titolare dell'azienda Poggiotondo di Subbiano (Arezzo) rivolge, per il secondo anno, a chi vuole passare una giornata magica all'aria aperta ed assistere, in diretta, alla fibrillazione che accompagna la vendemmia e le prime operazioni di cantina.

«L'anno scorso abbiamo avuto la conferma che i consumatori vogliono vedere cosa succede durante la vendemmia e come nasce il vino che berranno - spiega Massart- quindi ... si continua! Sono convinto che quest'anno verrà ancora più gente perché c'è sempre maggiore attenzione verso il produttore. Chi apprezza il vinonon si accontenta più di bere quello che gli si prepara vuole vedere in faccia chi lo fa. E ... come non condividere questa filosofia! ... Chi sarà venuto a trovarci, quando aprirà una bottiglia dell'annata 2008, potrà raccontare senza essere smentito "a quella vendemmia c'ero ... Questo vino l'ho visto nascere!".

L'ospite - continua Massart- non avrà, ovviamente, una partecipazione attiva perchè la legge lo vieta ma avrà libero accesso alle vigne e alla cantina e avrà diritto ad una risposta ad ogni domanda.

Le operazioni di vendemmia, che si svolgeranno in località Le Rancole, dove si trovano i vigneti e la cantina di Poggiotondo, dovrebbero iniziare tra il 1° ed il 10 ottobre p.v. (l'inizio dipenderà sia dal momento in cui l'uva avrà raggiunto la maturazione ottimale sia dalle condizioni atmosferiche). «L'idea di aprire la mia azienda per la vendemmia è nata - precisa entusiasta Massart - visto che la vendemmia è rimasta l'unica grande festa della campagna così come una volta, era una grande festa, la trebbiatura del grano ... allora per la vendemmia il viticoltore si deve aprire, deve fare festa, non rintanarsi....Considerato che durante la vendemmia regna nei vigneti, in cantina e a tavola, un'atmosfera magica dobbiamo ... contagiare più gente possibile».

Durante la giornata, totalmente gratuita, gli ospiti potranno pranzare a base di prodotti locali e tanto vino. Per chi viene da fuori e vorrà fermarsi qualche giorno, o solo a cena, a Subbiano due locali, Torre Santa Flora (tel. 0575.42.10.45) e Chenno (tel. 0575.48.80.02), offriranno camere e pasti a prezzi speciali per i vendemmiatori di Poggiotondo.

COME AND DISCOVER THE GRAPE HARVEST IN POGGIOTONDO

For the second year Poggiotondo opens for free to people who want to discover the secrets of the grape harvest. Accommodation in local hotels at a discount is available for visitors coming to Casentino for the grape harvest.

"LIVE THE GRAPE HARVEST 2" For the second year, Lorenzo Massart, a lawyer and the owner of Poggiotondo estate in Subbiano, near Arezzo in Tuscany (Italy), invites everyone who wants to spend a magical day in the open air to experience the thrill of the grape harvest and the first steps of wine making in the winery.

«Last year we were confirmed in our view that consumers want to see what happens during the grape harvest and to witness the birth of the wine they will drink - Mr Massart says - I'm sure people will come even more numerous this year because there is a growing attention on the wine producer. For wine lovers drinking wine as a final product is not enough, they want to look the producer in the face. And I fully agree with this philosophy! When our guests open a bottle of 2008, they will rightly say "I was there at the harvest ... I myself saw this wine being born!. Obviously, our guests can't take actively part in the grape gathering because law forbids that, - Mr Massart adds - but they'll have free access to the vineyards and to the winery and all their questions will be surely answered».

The grape harvest is taking place at Le Rancole, where the vineyards and the winery of Poggiotondo are, and it is likely to start on a date between the 1^st and the 10^th of October, the exact date depending from the best ripeness of the grapes and the weather conditions.

«I had this idea of opening my estate for the grape harvest, - Mr Massart explains- because it is the only great festival in the countryside left, as great as wheat threshing was once ... so at harvest time the wine grower must open their estate out, must celebrate .... There is a magical atmosphere in the vineyards, in the winery and around the table during the grape harvest and I'll try to influence as many people as I can with it».

Our guests can have a free lunch with local products and a lot of wine.
